Tattoo After Care
If you left with plastic wrap :
Keep The plastic wrap on your treatment site for the next 2 hours or until you arrive home. When you arrive home you will wash your hands with warm water and antibacterial soap, gently rinse your tattoo site with warm water and antibacterial soap, pat dry ( never rub with friction), and wrap back up with a new wrap for the next 2-3 hours.
Before bed you will do the same cleansing instructions listed above but do not re wrap it , use a light unscented lotion , Hustle Butter or Tattoo Lovers Tattoo Balm, or After Ink moisturizer on the tattoo site.
If you left with DermSheild or Second skin on your tattoo:
Please let it sit for 3 days then remove under cool water . When removing please lift up a edge of the bottom of the second skin attached to the skin. Then you will gently pull this down flush with your skin. (Similar to if you pulled a command strip off the wall). The second skin may break a few times but continue this motion until the second skin is off completely. Do not rip it up and off , you will irritate or tear your skin and can scar the tattoo as well.
After the second skin is fully off , clean with warm water and antibacterial soap. Pat dry and apply your tattoo moisturizer as needed.
Your Tattoo may take 2-3 weeks to fully heal. In that time frame , keep your tattoo clean, don’t touch it with dirty hands , and always use clean hands when applying your moisturizer to the tattoo site . You will continue to do this until the tattoo is fully healed and the ink is settled in your skin.
When your tattoo feels dry and itchy apply the moisturizer to help battle the dryness.
